My Freeware Files and Notes
Most freeware distribution sites fall into one of three categories.
1) Sites that contain excellent "selected software". They usually contain only a few titles that the authors have used and recommend as the very best products in a limited number of categories.
2) Sites that contain "quality softare". They usually contain a few hundred quality products.
3) Sites that contain "anything". They usually contain thousands of titles and since they will list anything people will pay for, many of the titles they list are poor quality. But these giant sites are useful when you are looking for a title that's hard to find or just browsing for titles in a specific category.
I keep titles here if they are excellent and not too large. If a package is too large, I just provide a link so you can download it from the originating site.
